tasty flavour! but could be more fresh
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
These corn cakes arrived with quite a short best before date: only 6 months from the date of arrival.
Taste-wise, they are unique for corn cakes as they are spiced with cumin, fennel and anise. The dominant flavour is cumin. The taste reminds me a bit of falafel! I find them tasty! I'd give them full marks for taste!
Texture-wise, they were a tiny bit softer than I'd like. I think the packaging didn't seal them as well as it could have from the air, so they felt a tiny bit stale and not as fresh as they could be. But they were still relatively crispy. I'd say they were 85% crisp and fresh.
In terms of thickness, they are a thin corn cake, like a "corn thin".
Would I order them again? I think so. The taste is so special. I just hope in the future they learn to make the packaging more air-tight.
