Sage
Salvia officinalis
Sage leaves are used both fresh and dried. Sage is a classic spice for Italian cuisine. Traditional dishes include tortellini in sage butter, saltimbocca or minced meat, and poultry fillings. Vegetable dishes with tomatoes or potatoes can also be wonderfully refined with sage.
Origins:
Originally sage is from the Mediterranean, but today it is cultivated to Asia Minor.
