Description
This ancient grain is ground at the Mulino Sobrino mill using a traditional method and stone rollers. The name Kamut describes Khorasan wheat from organic cultivation. This original wheat variety was grown as far back as 6,000 years ago.
Kamut contains up to 40% more proteins, amino acids and minerals (selenium, magnesium and zinc) than conventional flours. It also contains many vitamins and a lot of fibre.
Kamut, like many ancient grains, has a sweetish, slightly nutty taste and a rather firm texture. When baking, you can replace wheat flour 1: 1 with Kamut flour in your recipes.
