Description
Desert salt is considered to be a gourmet salt and is also one of the oldest in the world. It is extracted by hand from subterranean brine pools, some of which are 280 million years old. This salt is extracted in the South African Kalahari Desert, dried in the sun and packaged. It contains many minerals and trace elements, has a pronounced flavour and is a favourite among top chefs.
Note: Also known as "unwashed evaporated salt", this salt is unrefined and non-iodised. It is finely crystalline in texture.
