Description
The Kampot pepper comes from the province of the same name directly on the Gulf of Thailand. The tropical climate and rich soil offers the ideal conditions for harvesting the high-quality pepper. It is a climbing plant from the Piperaceae family and is grown on wooden stakes of up to 5 meters. Cultivation takes place using traditional methods and is done by hand, without the use of artificial fertilizers or pesticides. Irrigation is done manually by the farmers.
The black Kampot peppercorns are harvested when they are still green as they start to ripe. They are then dried in the sun for a few days. Inferior peppercorns are sorted out by hand.
The special flavour is made up of a blend of spicy and sweet tastes with eucalyptus and mint notes on the finish. It is perfect for flavouring red meat or soups.
